The Baseball Grip the most basic hold you will learn in pole dancing, and it is used in a wide variety of moves from beginner to expert level. Imagine you are holding a baseball bat instead of a pole. Your thumbs are wrapped around the pole, on the opposite side of the rest of your fingers. You’ll use this in any number of moves from a basic body roll, to a cradle spin, to a two-handed Meathook.

How to Get into a Baseball Grip

Move Steps

For a right-handed hold, your right hand will be on top.

For a left-handed hold, your left hand will be on top.

 

  1. Take your top hand and place it on the pole with your fingers wrapped around one side of the pole and the thumb around the opposite side. Your palm should be facing the inside of the pole.
  2. Take your bottom hand across the chest and place it lower on the pole in the same way, to the inside of the pole, palms facing each other.
  3. Squeeze your palm and fingers around the pole tightly.
